Membership at Keuka Yacht Club is one of the most affordable
ways to gain access to Keuka Lake. If you are interested in racing
sailboats, crewing in these races, renting a slip for your
boat, or relaxing and enjoying beautiful Keuka Lake with your
family, the Keuka Yacht Club is a VERY affordable choice.
Keuka Yacht Club welcomes new members interested in having access
to Keuka lake and participating in a club that runs on the volunteer
spirit of its members. Membership fees are kept low because of
the volunteer force of its membership.
The process of becoming a member is straight forward. KYC is a friendly club without airs. While its major activity is related to sailing (and racing sail boats), current membership includes many who do not sail and enjoy the lake and the comradery.
The application process involves filling in a very short form, that can be obtained from Roxane Drost. One requirement is to have two current members recommend you. However if you do not know club members, we will be happy to arrange for prospective members to visit the site and meet members. Our membership is very open and includes people of many different walks of life and backgrounds. We would encourage all prospective members to visit the club in any case.
FAMILY - Any married person or single person with dependant children must join as a full family member. All the membrs of the immediate family are welcome to full access of the facilities, waterfront, slip rental, and racing programs. Family memberships receive two votes.
SINGLE - Any unmarried person with no dependant children. Privileges are the same as family members. Single members receive one vote.
STUDENT - Full time students. Students shall have full privileges except the right to vote or hold office or to receive credit on house accounts.
NON-BOATING/SOCIAL - Families or adult single persons wishing only limited use of the club facilities. These members may not launch or store boats, rent slips, rent sailboats, vote, or hold office. They may participate in boating activites under certain conditions.
CREW - Any person wishing to participate in the racing activite and use the club grounds on racing days may elect to pay a limited membership fee. These members may not launch or store boats on the grounds, rent slips, vote, or hold office. But they can participate every weekend in all the racing events as crew. The club has more skippers and boats than the available crew can support. If you are interested in racing sailboats, this membership is a good choice for the first year.
If later in the year you enjoy the club and wish to more fully participate, any previous dues paid will be discounted from the additional dues of the higher category within the same year.
If you are interested in becoming a member, Roxanne Drost will forward you an application and instructions.Visitors interested in becoming members of the club are welcome to tour the facilities and grounds. Please call the club steward at (607)868-5000 during open hours to make plans. Click here for a map.
